Meet Lindsay

Lindsay Pleasance, PT, FCAMPT, CIDN

OWNER, PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Whether you are recovering from an injury, dealing with ongoing pain, or simply wanting to improve upon your physical fitness I am determined to guide you there.

Lindsay Pleasance in her office in Tottenham, Ontario.

My Approach:

I use a holistic approach to treatment to get you better faster, addressing any variables that might be limiting your recovery.  This means looking at your pain with a wider lens of overall wellness, rather than just focusing on specific structure or tissue as the cause of pain.

I listen to your story, and what’s most important to you.  Then I assess how you are moving to determine the cause(s) of your pain.  Treatment is then tailored to you, and your specific goals and physiology.

I use evidence-based manual therapy techniques with specific exercise and education to not only achieve great results, but to maintain those results and prevent the return of your symptoms in the future.

My Background:

I graduated from the physiotherapy program at McMaster University in 2008.  Prior to this I completed my Bachelor of Science in Bio-medical Science at Guelph University in 2005 (Go Gryphons!).

Since then I have completed extensive postgraduate education in manual and manipulative therapy.  I am a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (CAMPT). which is the highest level of orthopaedic physiotherapy training in Canada.

This allows me to not only treat your pain, but to determine the root cause and prevent it from recurring.

I am certified in integrated dry needling and acupuncture.  I find acupuncture can be an amazing addition to treatment, by decreasing pain and accelerating your natural healing process.

I have recently completed training in Pilates, including reformer based Pilates. I fell in love with Pilates when treating my own back pain. It is a form of exercise incorporating mobility, body awareness, strength and control all at once. Give it a try!

I also have training in vestibular therapy.  Vestibular therapy can treat symptoms of vertigo, dizziness and altered balance.  A common condition treated with this type of therapy is BPPV.

I have over 15 years of experience treating a variety of injuries and conditions, including sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, post surgical rehab, chronic neck and back pain, and anything in between!

I have worked and lived in New Tecumseth for > 10 years.  I truly love the sense of community in a small town.  I live with my husband, two girls and our dog Ruxin.  I can often be found spending time outdoors with my favourite people, hiking, swimming or gardening (at least trying to!).

If you would like to see if we are a good fit or would like more information, please don't hesitate to call or book a Discovery Call.
